About — who’s behind the paint

About Me

An AI programmer by day and an electronic musician by dusk — one person, two studios, and a website slow enough to walk through.

The site’s opening canvas — hazy agapanthus after Monet — standing in for a portrait.
No headshot yet. The painting that opens the site stands in for one.

I make things that think and things that sing. By day, AI systems and creative tools. By dusk, electronic music.

I am drawn to the seam where computation meets feeling — diffusion models that paint, sequencers that breathe, interfaces that get out of the way.

This site is a slow gallery of that work. Walk through it.

(01) — By day

AI systems & creative tools

Most of my working hours go into systems that reason and tools that make: language-model agents that share one task graph, evaluation harnesses that keep them honest, and interfaces that let a maker steer a diffusion model the way a painter glazes — early for structure, late for surface.

I care less about what a model can generate than about where a person gets to intervene. The interesting engineering is always at that seam.

(02) — By dusk

Electronic music

After sunset the room goes a saturated green for about forty minutes, and that is when most of the music gets written: ambient beds, dub techno, IDM textures — patches left running for an hour before I touch them.

Everything on the Sound page is self-hosted and played through a player I built for it, down to the key-shifter and the reverb.

Principles — four sentences I keep coming back to

Now — what’s on the easel

Currently

  • Two sites shipped for other people — an automotive IC maker and a Los Angeles visual artist — both linked under Works.
  • A browser music player with its own DJ console: a hand-written key shifter and an algorithmic reverb running as AudioWorklets.
  • Studies in real-time diffusion, multi-agent planning and painterly shaders — directions, not products yet.
  • Forty-odd tracks, sketches and loops on the Sound page, and the essays in the Journal.
